a haven of compassion and care.....

A Supportive Hug

OUR STORY OF CARE

Who We Are

Safe Haven offer short-term crisis intervention for young people who are experiencing acute emotional distress, mental health challenges, or disruption in their home environment.

Our aim is simple yet profound: to provide immediate safety, emotional stability, and a supportive space to begin healing.

We operate from the belief that care should feel human — not clinical or transactional.

Our homes are warm, calm, and thoughtfully designed to offer comfort and dignity during difficult times. Every detail, from the environment to the relationships we build, reflects our commitment to providing a stable, nurturing space where young people can feel safe enough to breathe, reflect, and reset.

Our staff are highly trained in trauma-informed practice, safeguarding, risk management, and mental health support. Beyond their qualifications, they are chosen for their capacity to connect with young people authentically and compassionately — to be steady, empathetic figures during moments of real vulnerability.

At Safe Haven, we don't offer quick fixes. We offer presence, patience, and care — because we know that healing begins with feeling safe, and safety begins with trust.

We provide stable homes, built on love — and from there, young people can begin to find their way forward.

OUR PROMISE

At Safe Haven, we offer more than a place to stay —

we create nurturing environments where young people feel safe, valued, and supported.

Our homes are carefully designed to feel like a true home.

They are warm, welcoming spaces with gentle routines and a calm atmosphere that helps young people feel grounded. Whether someone arrives in crisis or simply needs a stable space to regroup, our team is here — with compassion, consistency, and care.

Meet some of the team...

Charlotte - Manager

My career began as a Support Worker, driven by a deep desire to support children in crisis—those often misunderstood and overlooked. I quickly learned that what matters most is showing up consistently, with empathy and strength, especially on the hardest days.

As I progressed to Team Leader, I worked closely with young people, staff teams, and local authorities to advocate for care that truly puts children first. I’ve supported numerous children and families through some of their most challenging times, always striving to ensure their voices are heard and valued.

This journey inspired me to create something more: a crisis care service that’s child-led, trauma-informed, and built on trust, stability, and compassion. Here, we aim not only to keep children safe—but to help them feel seen, understood, and empowered to heal.

Kayleigh - Mental Health Nurse

With over 9 years of experience in the field, I’m a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Nurse committed to supporting individuals through their mental health journeys.

My role involves conducting comprehensive assessments to understand each person's unique needs and providing therapeutic conversations aimed at promoting emotional well-being and recovery. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals feel heard, supported, and empowered to take steps toward positive change

Joe - Support Worker

I am a dedicated and compassionate support worker with a strong commitment to improving the lives of children and young people facing mental health challenges. With hands-on experience in crisis intervention, emotional support, and trauma-informed care, I take pride in creating safe, stable environments where young people feel heard, valued, and empowered. I genuinely enjoy this work – every day brings new challenges, but also the chance to make a real difference. Watching a young person grow in confidence, develop coping strategies, or simply smile after a tough day is what makes this role so rewarding. I thrive on building trust-based relationships, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, and advocating for the needs and rights of those I support. This is more than just a job to me – it’s a calling, and I’m always seeking ways to deepen my knowledge and impact within the mental health and care sectors.

MEET OUR HOME

Our Safe Haven homes are modern, stylish, and thoughtfully designed to offer comfort, security, and stability. This three-bedroom property features contemporary furnishings, all modern conveniences, a private driveway, and a secure garage — creating a homely, welcoming environment where young people can begin to feel grounded again.

While we’re not yet Ofsted registered, we're actively working towards it, and despite being unregulated currently, we guarantee we will provide the same standard as any Ofsted registered crisis care service.

The home is also fully Ofsted-compliant, equipped to meet the highest standards of safety and care. Every detail, from soft lighting to calming décor, has been chosen to help reduce stress and promote emotional regulation. We operate a 2:1 staffing ratio, with experienced, trauma-informed practitioners on-site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whether a young person arrives in crisis or simply needs a calm space to recover, our team is ready to provide steady, compassionate care every step of the way.

"What I admire most about Charlotte is how she is able to be trauma-informed, yet provide good boundaries, apply humor and support the young person to feel heard and held. My young person still after 4 months asks about Charlotte every time I see them. Charlotte sees working with young people as more than a job, and her passion for improving their lives shines through."
